Binding a rock is a meditative process, pulling against that which is unmovable. Fibers tension, pull, rub, and start to break. I weave to cover the rock. The flat color of the fabric contradicts the depth of colors of the lichen that make their home on that surface. The most inane natural object contains a vibrant rage of life, and in defiance of that, I have placed a label. I qualify the rock, according to the logic of arbitrary names and real economics. The face of the Global North exerting it’s power on the Himalayan mountains.
